What is the MU COVID Variant and is it Present in the US?

There have been 2000 cases in the US, mostly in California, Florida, Texas, New York, among others. Even though the MU variant is spreading throughout the US, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci has said this MU variant is “not even close to being dominant.”

The Delta variant is still the leading cause of 99 percent of all the cases in the US. Being that the MU COVID variant is present in the US, we do need to take proper precautions. There is not enough data to determine if the COVID-19 vaccine will protect against the MU variant, but the vaccine is still the best protection we have right now against the virus.
