When to get a Rapid PCR test for traveling?
You should get a Rapid COVID PCR Tested for travelling if you:
Need the certificate for traveling from or to a country that requires a COVID-19 Certificate.
You are not vaccinated and have arrived in the US in the past 72 hours.
You are vaccinated, but start feeling symptoms (fever, dry cough, tiredness, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath) within a week from your trip.
You are vaccinated, but the state/country you're travelling to requires a PCR test COVID-19 Certificate.
Need results the same day for travel.
Need a rapid PCR test to avoid self-isolation in your traveling location.
If you've recovered in the past 3 months, you can follow guidelines for fully vaccinated people. Instead of showing a negative PCR test you'll be able to use your recovery document when boarding international flights that go to the US. You also don't need to get tested 3-5 days after you land in the US, if you're not showing symptoms.
It's not mandated, but the CDC suggests that unvaccinated passengers quarantine for 7 days with a negative PCR test and 10 days without a test. The same applies for both international and domestic destinations.
